The unforgettable Bacon Mille-feuille BBQ dessert

Do you like the combination of bacon and sweetness? How about just the combination of bacon with anything? Has that sold you yet? Well, we think you’ll really like our Bacon Mille-feuille dessert recipe.


What is Bacon Mille-feuille, you ask? First, let’s take a look at what a Mille-feuille is. This dessert is a traditionally French (and later French-Canadian), and is made up of three layers of puff pastry (pâte feuilletée), alternating with two layers of pastry cream (crème pâtissière). The top pastry layer is dusted with sugar, and sometimes cocoa, pastry crumbs, or pulverized seeds (e.g. roasted almonds). Alternatively, the top is glazed with icing or fondant in alternating white (icing) and brown (chocolate) stripes, and combed.


But what I did is combine this sweet, delicious dessert with bacon! And the end result will be excellent. Maybe the best part of this is that you get to cook it on the BBQ. It won’t take a long time, it’s easy and you can even do it with the kids.


This is one of the simplest recipes in the history of desserts (and one of the best)! 




1 box of (six) Mille-feuilles

6 slices of bacon


Bacon Mille-feuille Preparation:


Grill bacon until halfway done through cooking.


Open each Mille-feuille in half and insert a slice of bacon. Then close it back up.


Cook in indirect heat on your BBQ for three to four minutes, while smoking. The Barbecue will actually add a more flavorful taste. 


N.B: It is better to make this recipe with its own bacon, otherwise it’s too easy!
